Tools
Save your wrists and get an electric screwdriver. I like this lightweight and affordable one by SKIL (SKIL Rechargeable 4V Cordless Screwdriver, Amazon)
You don’t need a great hammer for the finishing nails, but if you want something good for all around the house and this project, I’d recomend IRWIN. (IRWIN Hammer, Fiberglass, Amazon)
A white rubber mallet can help get pieces to close that last little bit, without marking up the finish. (BLACK+DECKER Rubber Mallet, Amazon)
Everyone should have at least one moving blanket around the house. Keep things from getting scratched up when you have to move them, and your floors from getting beat up during this assembly. (Sure-Max Moving & Packing Blanket, Amazon)
Assembly Tips:
Keep the boxes containing the drawers (18x3x33) separate to make assembling the dresser section easier and simpler.
If you must assemble this dresser alone, build it vertically/on it’s side so that the slats don’t collapse on you and tighten camlocks as you go up.
After figuring out how to assemble one drawer, if you have the space lay out the additional drawer pieces and do each step on all five. You’ll move less tools and parts around, keep better organized, and finish faster!
Remember to tighten every cam lock! Most of my repairs are because the drawer fronts weren’t tightened properly.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other issues in the comments.
