Assemble This: the LACK table

The simplest, most affordable and most popular coffee table I’ve ever seen - IKEA’s Lack Coffee Table. There’s lots of imitators, but the authentic is better for a few reasons. Higher quality MDF, better engineering and hardware, and a competitive price. If you really just need something simple and easy to assemble, this is it.

The Brimnes Wardrobe is the cheapest way to tuck away your clothes, and other odds and ends

Summary:

  • Difficult: Literally the easiest item IKEA has in stock

  • Possible to Do Alone: Definitely

  • Assembly Time: 15 minutes

  • Parts: 18

  • Good for DIY: Yes!

Tips:

  • If you have a drill, you can make this even quicker by using the chuck to install the double sided screws into the legs

  • You can use one of the screws that come with the table to make a little pin/pilot hole where the marking tools tells you to for under the table

  • It’s much easier to install the second/smaller underside table/platform if you have the table on it’s side

  • I like to orient the sharper corners of the LACK table on the inside, it just looks a bit neater in my opinion

  • All sizes of the LACK table are built more or less the same.
